Left: SMA seed - shows mainly cortical activation

Right A1 seed in right hemisphere  - shows SMA but a lot more subcortical activation in BG, insula



I agree it looks like the SMA is in both - especially in the top 6-7 slices. But the SMA links to bilateral PM and bilateral parietal regions whereas the A1r region shows mainly subcortical regions (BG, perhaps insula, rest to be determined).
